The Area Commander for the Eastern area of Cheshire is
Chief Superintendent Mick Garrihy.
Areas we cover
The Eastern Area mirrors the boundaries of Cheshire East
Council which has a population of more than 372,000
people. We have six neighbourhood policing teams that cover the
area, these are:
Covering a total of 449 square miles, its communities range from
some of the most affluent towns and villages in the country,
through to areas with some of the highest levels of social
deprivation in the region. Policing has to be delivered to rural
communities, market towns, and significant regional centres of
industry and commerce. We also have to be aware of cross border
crimes including anti-social behaviour, alcohol-related crime and
drug crime as we patrol the M6 and M56 corridors.
What are our aims?
Our aims are:
- To reduce crime and disorder, making our communities
safer.
- Manage and use resources better, getting the maximum benefit
out of our valuable assets.
- Actively targeting prolific offenders within the
communities.
- Continue to work with other agencies to help make the community
feel safer.
We are you local police force and we aim to work with you in
making Cheshire an even safer place to work and live.
As Area Commander I would like to thank you for that support and
would encourage each and every member of the community to contact
the police with information on crime in your area, no matter how
insignificant you feel it may be.
If the incident is happening right now then don’t hesitate to
dial 999. However, if the incident isn’t occurring right now phone
Cheshire Police on 101. Alternatively you can live
