Western BCU

The Area Commander for the Western area of Cheshire is Chief Superintendent Craig Guildford.

Areas we cover

The Western Area covers the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester, which has a population of over 300,000 people. We have six neighbourhood policing teams that cover the area, these are:

As the geography between these places are so diverse (ranging from rural areas to industrial areas to the City of Chester), it poses us as a police force both challenges and opportunities in terms of the policing styles that we use.

We work closely with local partners in striving to deliver the very best policing service to all of the residents in this area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As a result of this we are a very successful policing area, and demonstrates our desire to be there for you when you need the help and support of the police service.

What are our aims?

Our aims are:

  • Responding to calls in an efficient and effective manner
  • Improving our customer service.
  • Detecting and investigating crime
  • Deterring and responding to anti-social behaviour
  • Actively targeting prolific offenders within the communities.

We are you local police force and we aim to work with you in making Cheshire an even safer place to work and live.

As Area Commander I would like to thank you for that support and would encourage each and every member of the community to contact the police with information on crime and anti-social behaviour, no matter how insignificant you feel it may be.

If the incident is happening right now then don’t hesitate to dial 999. However, if the incident isn’t occurring right now phone Cheshire Police on 101. Alternatively you can live information with CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
