Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Liaison Officers

The challenging of homophobia and transphobia in Cheshire is the main target for the 70 LGBT liaison officers within the Force.

The officers’ role includes helping to develop better understanding of the LGBT communities and encouraging people within those communities to interact with the police. They also encourage the LGBT community to report incidents against them and provide help and assistance to victims.

The Force wants people to be confident that they will be treated fairly and with respect and have a clear understanding that they can report hate crime and incidents directly to Cheshire Police, knowing that there are staff adequately trained to deal with them.
