Advice to people attending Creamfields

Traffic, congestion and planning your journey

Plans are in place to help keep traffic on the move over the Bank Holiday weekend as thousands of music fans head to Cheshire for Creamfields.

Around 50,000 people from across the UK and further a field are expected to attend the event in Daresbury.

Cheshire Police are working closely alongside the organisers of the event and representatives from the Highways Agency, the two local councils and the other emergency services - to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.

  • There will be a significant increase in traffic coming into the area.
  • Majority of festival-goers will be heading to the site on Friday and Saturday morning - expect congestion
  • Festival-goers will be leaving the festival on Monday morning - expect congestion
  • Be alert as roads will be busier than normal
  • Tune into local radio stations for updates if local roads are congested
  • Allow plenty of time for your journey
  • Use junctions 11 and 12 of the M56 and junction 7 of the M62 and follow designated routes
  • Do not rely on sat-navs - traffic signs will point you in the right direction
  • Stick to the speed restrictions - there will be pedestrians in the area
