According to the Police and Crime Standards Directorate at the
Home Office:
'The principal aim of the National Standard for Incident
Recording is to ensure that all appropriate incidents, be they
crime or non-crime, are recorded by police in a consistent and
accurate manner, so as to allow resulting data to be used at a
local and national level to meet the management and performance
information needs of all stakeholders.'
When an incident involving hunting with dogs is reported to the
Cheshire police which code is assigned by the relevant personnel to
the incident?
Response
In accordance with section 1 (1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
Incidents created Command and Control in relation to Hunting are
opened and closed with the below code:-
SL - PROTEST / DEMONSTRATION (INDUSTRIAL / HUNT /
FARMERS ETC)
Under a Sec 16 Duty to Assist - This is a Non Notifiable Offence
within the National Crime Recording Standards and is therefore
classified under Home Office Offence code 121.
