CCTV Coverage

Having approached your press office with this request unsuccessfully - I now make this request under freedom of information.

I believe that Cheshire may have undertaken an exercise in attempting to determine the amount/coverage of CCTV in your area.

1. I would like to know what efforts the force have made to quantify CCTV coverage in you area.
2. The number of cameras revealed by that process.
3. The extent of coverage revealed by that process.
4. Any breakdown of the numbers
   a) between those run by public bodies and those run by private individuals or businesses
   b) any breakdown by type of camera.

This information is also included in the above publication. However since the date of publication of the article and the date of your request a further 124 locations have been mapped of which a further 830 cameras owned by business premises have been identified.

The only information available is an assessment of the quality of images which shows that 52% of systems produce good quality images whilst the remaining 48% produce poor quality images.
