I work with Electively Home Educated children in Warrington
(employed by WBC) The DCSF (Department for children, schools and
families) have asked us to provide them with the number of children
who are officially 'missing children' and also those children who
were educated at home before they were missing. The DCSF need
the information by the end of Wednesday this week. Can you
help?
Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
There is currently one child who is 'long term' missing from home
within the Cheshire Police area.
Please note: At any one time there could be a number of missing
from homes who may have been missing from a few minutes to several
hours. In nearly all cases the MFH is located safe and well within
a short time period. In responding to your request we have
discounted any such short term MFH's as such a figure would be
almost impossible to obtain being subject to change almost by the
hour.
