Request
I am looking to gain a list of companies that your organisation
procure goods and services from. I have recently made similar
requests with regard to lists of supplier details from one or two
other Public Sector organisations and was told that the most
effective way to request this information would be through the
freedom of information act and that I should be able to access this
type of information as it is public money that is used to purchase
goods and services.
This is for a dissertation I am doing and I am looking for
company names and telephone numbers as I am looking at ratios
between local and national suppliers. I do not mind whether you can
only provide information just for last year or for the last three
years. Public sector bodies I have requested this information from
in the past few weeks have normally provided lists ranging from
2,000 - 14,000 company details and have obtained the lists from
supplies or finance departments within 20 days ( time perameter set
out by the information comission for request to be processed ). If
you could provide me with as much as you can I would be very
grateful
Response
In accordance with section 1 (1) of the Act our response is
provided below;
The information you have requested is already reasonably
accessible to you by other means and is therefore exempt
information in accordance with section 21 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.
