Request
I would like to ask under the Freedom of Information
Act how many 'third party funded' or 'match funded' PCSOs have been
employed by your force in the past five years.
That is community support officers who are either part
or fully funded by businesses or other organizations such as
councils or universities.
Please supply details of the funding in each case - that is
which outside body has provided it, how much they provided and what
proportion of the total PCSO's cost this covered.
Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our
response is provided below;
Cheshire Constabulary currently has 133
PCSOs
who are part funded by various partners. All partners currently pay
£11,000 per annum per PCSO which is
equivalent to approximately a third of the PCSO cost.
