We would like to request information relating to the Freedom of Information Act. The information we are looking for is set out below:

  1. Do you operate a driver speed awareness or driver improvement scheme?
  2. If so, who are the providers of such schemes?
  3. What does it cost the offender to attend?
  4. What is the duration of the schemes?
  5. When did the contracts start?
  6. When are the contracts due for renewal or available to tender?
  7. If no schemes are currently offered are you considering offering one?
    If so when will this be likely?
  8. Who would we contact in relation to the speed awareness or driver improvement schemes?

Response

In accordance with section 1(1) (a) of the Act our response is provided below;

We can confirm that the Cheshire Constabulary does hold the information requested however the information is already reasonably accessible to you by other means and is therefore exempt information in accordance with section 21 of the Act.

A search on Google for "Speed+Awareness+Cheshire" would have provided you with the information you have requested.

You will note that the course is operated by the local authority, formerly Cheshire County Council. (this is now Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East).
