Cost Implications to Air Support

I wish to understand more about the financial implications of the Air Support Unit you utilise.

Specifically I require the following information:
* Number of sorties in last calendar year
* Number of hours flown in last calendar year
* Number of days weather prevented sortie being flown
* Number of days servicing of asset prevented sortie being flown
* Typical cost of sortie
* Annual budget for PASU
* Number of members of public served by your region

Should you have a business report on your PASU utilisation I would be grateful to receive such a document.

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is provided below;

562 flights attending 1069 incidents

495 hours

7 days this is equivalent as the data is collected on an hourly basis

48 days equivalent as the data is collected on an hourly basis

This information is not held. All sorties are different times/duration etc so I cannot provide a typical cost of a sortie.

There is no specific whole budget for Air Support, this is contained within the overall costs of operational policing.
