How much it cost to repair the damage caused in each accident.

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is provided below;

Please see the attached Excel sheets one for each of the two years concerned. Please note because of the way the information is recorded we have supplied details of all damage to police vehicle whether from road collisions or otherwise. Many of the incidents do not fit your criteria as they are not strictly ' road accidents' but those that are should be evident from the detail's provided.

There has been one road traffic accident during the years 08/09 involving an on-duty police officer that went through the courts. The Officer was found guilty of driving without due care and attention. The Judge ordered absolute discharge having accepted the argument of 'Special Reasons' and as a result he declined to impose penalty points or to endorse the Officer's driving licence. No disciplinary action was taken.
