I hope you can help me with this personal plea.
My father died 26th March 1980 in a car accident on Ashton Road,
Norley.
Fathers Name -xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I'm not sure on this actual dob but i do know he was 32 yrs when
he died in 1980 (ie 1948).
The car he was driving was a Datsun
I would like to know exactly where the accident occurred on that
road. Would you have the records archived somewhere that
would be able to tell me please?

In accordance with section 1 (1) (a) of the Act our response is
provided below;
There is no information held. We have searched our archives and
we have been unable to trace any recorded information relating to
the accident. All such accident records were transferred to the
Transport Research Laboratory, (TRL). We have contacted them and
they confirm that they no longer hold any information prior to
1993.
I regret we are unable to assist you on this occasion but can I
suggest that you try the local newspaper archives, the Chronicle
and the Guardian. They would probably have reported on both the
accident and the subsequent inquest.
