Response
A new motto "Be Safe, Stay Safe" was introduced in late 2007. In
the same year the Constabulary produced its Policing principles,
which outlines the way we do our business. Please see the following
Link to the Force Vision
In 2001 we had a motto - "Helping Make Cheshire Safer". There
was no force motto before this. It was replaced because it no
longer represented all the objectives the Force was delivering.
The current motto was selected following discussion
and consultation at Chief Officers Group and the Chief Constable's
Conference.
Why did we make the change? The objectives set by the
Government and the Police Authority were changing and there was a
need to clearly identify our objectives and values in our printed
materials.
There were no costs in replacing the motto on our
printed materials as the old was phased out as the new was
introduced. It was all done in house with no consultancies.
The costs of replacing signage is not yet known as
this work is ongoing as and when the existing signs need replacing.
(The motto is included in the Force Logo/Title signs. It can be
viewed on the Home page of our web site).
