XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I have been appointed on behalf of Amlin Insurance in respect of a burglary that has occurred at xxxx, xxxx, Macclesfield, SK10 xxx

I am in the process of applying for copies of various crime reports, regarding incidents at the premises, reference numbers listed above. However it is my understanding that the premises has been targeted over a period of time by local youths and the residents have made various complaints/calls to the Police.

Can you confirm, under the Freedom of Information Act, how many times since 2008 you have been called to the premises, and the reasons why. I have no wish for any personal information concerning the persons who made the calls, however I am attempting to establish what was happening at the premises. When you received the calls were you advised if people were within the building or outside? Was anybody seen walking away with items. I have been made aware of an incident where a youth was seen on a chair being wheeled up and down the pavement.

In addition, the number of times you have been called to the premises, however maybe there has been no/insufficient evidence of a crime for you to crime it.

Response

In accordance with the Act our response is provided below;

I have now considered your request and I am not obliged to provide any information.

The Cheshire Constabulary neither confirms nor denies that it holds any of the information requested. To give a statement of the reasons why neither confirming nor denying is appropriate in this case would itself involve the disclosure of exempt information, therefore under section 17 (4), no explanation can be given. To the extent that section 40(5) applies, the Cheshire Constabulary has determined that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exclusion of the duty to confirm nor deny outweighs the public interest in confirming whether or not information is held.
