Request

I would like to know the number of children aged from 0 to 18 with DNA and/or fingerprint information stored on the police national databases for the purposes of protection from honour based violence.

Could I please have this information broken down by year starting in 2005 until September 2010.

Response

In accordance with the Act our response is provided below;

From our preliminary assessment, we estimate that compliance with your request would exceed the appropriate costs limit under section 12 of the Freedom of information Act 2000. This is currently £450. To identify whether or not we hold information relevant to this request would involve a manual search of all DNA files which would run into many thousands. We are therefore unable confirm or deny that we actually hold the information requested

We are unable to offer a workable solution to achieve a response with the statistical information you seek within the cost limits.
