1. When were these cameras last calibrated and has any work been
done on their calibration during the recent road works? If you can
not provide this information can you please tell me who holds
it
2. Has there been a significant increase (greater than 5%) in
the cameras detecting alleged offences and the number of
prosecutions resulting from this?
Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
There is a difference between the camera and the housing. It is
the camera that is calibrated and we have the certification for
that calibration, which is carried out annually. Road works would
not affect this calibration and the camera is checked each time it
is loaded and unloaded to ensure it is working correctly.
There has been no increase in alleged offences at this camera
during the period of the road works.
