Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
A total of £3,170.00 was spent on social network training in
2010/11
16 senior officers and detectives took part in the training
courses which were designed to teach them how Social media could
impact on investigations, public order incidents and Community
engagement. The workshops were not intended to launch any
particular social media initiative.
Two workshops were held in 2010/11
Both of the workshops were one day.
There have been approx 20 new smart phones connections in the
last financial year, information is also already publicly available
on FOI 2361 dated 23rd Jan 2010 which includes information on
spend FOI Disclosure 2361

were predominantly introduced in the period stated in FOI 2361

- The Constabulary currently has 321 Blackberry connections
please note they are not owned by the staff. It not possible to
