  • How much money has been spent on Twitter and social networking workshops in the last financial year? (April 2010 – current)
  • How many staff have been on such workshops? If possible, please could you break down into type of staff e.g. serving officers, communications workers etc.? 
  • How many workshops there have been in the last financial year?
  • How long do these workshops last?
  • How much money has been spent supplying staff with smart phone handsets such as Blackberries in the last financial year?
  • How much money has been spent on Blackberries in the last five years?
  • How many members of staff own Blackberries? If possible, please could you break this down into type of staff?

Response

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is provided below;

A total of £3,170.00 was spent on social network training in 2010/11

16 senior officers and detectives took part in the training courses which were designed to teach them how Social media could impact on investigations, public order incidents and Community engagement. The workshops were not intended to launch any particular social media initiative.

Two workshops were held in 2010/11

Both of the workshops were one day.

There have been approx 20 new smart phones connections in the last financial year, information is also already publicly available on FOI 2361 dated 23rd Jan 2010 which includes information on spend  FOI Disclosure 2361

Please refer to the answer to the question above, Blackberries were predominantly introduced in the period stated in FOI 2361 which includes the information on spend

- The Constabulary currently has 321 Blackberry connections please note they are not owned by the staff. It not possible to break down into type of staff,
