UK Nationals

1. How any people did you charge with the offence of murder in the 2010 calendar year? How many of these individuals were recorded as NOT being a UK national? Please provide a table showing the nationality of all those people who were NOT recorded as being a UK national who were charged with murder in the 2010 calendar year.
2. How many people did you charge with the offence of rape in the 2010 calendar year? How many of these individuals were recorded as NOT being a UK national? Please provide a table showing the nationality of all those people who were NOT recorded as being a UK national who were charged with rape in the 2010 calendar year.

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is provided below;

1. 10 persons were charged with murder (not including attempts, conspiring, infanticide, corporate manslaughter or manslaughter).

None of these persons were of a non UK nationality.

2. 32 persons were charged with rape in 2010.

A total of 3 of these persons had a nationality recorded on our system as something other than English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish, British or United Kingdom.

The three nationalities were Zimbabwean, Iraqi & French
