Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
Please note: I have changed the reference to Greater Manchester
Police to read Cheshire Constabulary.
The period of the report for was 01.04.10 - 31.03.11
(23:59:59).
Please Note: It is not possible to say whether it was either
petrol or diesel stolen The word 'fuel' is used which covers
both.
The make and model of the vehicle involved in the stolen fuel is
included where this as been recorded, however these fields are
seldom completed and so the results are not conclusive.
The value of the fuel stolen is included where this has been
recorded, however again this field is seldom completed and so the
results are not conclusive.

Please Note:
Police forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to
provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recording
criteria is set nationally. However, the systems used for recording
these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally
in capturing the crime data. It should be noted that for these
reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used
for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive
