Charges to organisations

  • Reference Number: 3090
  • Date released: 10 May 2011

Request

Please supply details of any charges imposed by the police force to verify whether crimes have taken place to any outside organisation. This would typically be where an organisation or individual has supplied a crime reference number, requesting whether the number is genuine, and for any details that are available.

Please supply this information in a list, with an entry for each type of organisation charged, and the cost of verifying a crime reference number and/or supplying relevant details. If there is a blanket policy to charge for every request, or for each request not from a public body, then information to that effect is sufficient.

In addition, please break down any charges for this information that are levied on insurance companies, if relevant, with details of whether different charges apply to different types of incidents. For example, if the force charges car insurers a different rate to home insurers, or if information on vehicle incidents is charged at a different rate to burglaries, then this should be listed
