Please can you tell me the latest 12 month figures for arrests
involving indecent images of children offences by your force and
also for the previous 12 months.
Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;
The number of arrests made in 2009/10 was: 86
The number of arrests made in 2010/11 was: 93
reasons included relate the production of, possession and
distribution of indecent images of children.
These figures relate to both primary and secondary arrest
reasons, therefore it is not a count of persons arrested, as a
person may have two relevant arrest reasons on their record. i.e.
Primarily arrested under a custody number for making indecent
images and then arrested for a secondary offence of distributing
them.
