Request
Under the Freedom of Information Act, I am seeking details on
voluntary redundancies, compulsory redundancies and early
retirements within the organisation.
Please state how many redundancies were made and early
retirements accepted between April 2011 and today’s date.
Please state how many redundancies were made and early
retirements accepted in 2010/11 in its entirety.
In both cases, state separately how many redundancies were
compulsory, how many were voluntary and how many early retirements
were accepted.
Please state the total cost to the organisation of paying for
redundancies through redundancy and compensatory packages in
2010/11 and between April 2011 and today’s date.
Please state the projected number of redundancies and early
retirements for the remainder of the financial year, if known, and
the projected cost.
Where known, please state how many of the above refer to
operational staff and how many to staff in administrative
roles.

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act our response is
provided below;

46 Redundancies (37 Voluntary and 9 Compulsory)
2 Voluntary Early Retirements (accepted)

77 Redundancies (63 Voluntary and 14 Compulsory)
1 Voluntary Early Retirement (accepted)

Officers - 25 all Operational
Staff - 10 (4 Operational, 6 Admin)
It should be noted that it is difficult to predict this now that
the law has changed with regard to the default retirement age.

Possible Redundancies
Staff - 61 (all supervisory & admin) - please note these are
proposals and we will be mitigating compulsory redundancy wherever
possible
