Request
I am conducting research into the methodological approaches used
by archaeologists during criminal investigations, in order to
develop standard operating procedures for forensic archaeologists.
To aid my studies, I wish to know whether under the Freedom of
Information Act (2000) I would be granted access to any of the
forensic archaeological reports that have been submitted to your
police force.
Response
In accordance with section 1(1) (a) of the Act our response is
provided below;
The Cheshire Constabulary does not have any policies or
procedures in place to facilitate access to police information of
the type you describe. Therefore in accordance with the
requirements of the FOI Act there is no information held.
I can advise that a notable discovery in 1984 of 'Lindow Man', a
body found at Lindow End near Wilmslow, Cheshire is now in the
possession of the British Museum, please see the following
