Records Management and Personal Data Policies

Records Management

The Lord Chancellor’s code of practice on the management of records was issued under Section 46 of the Freedom of Information Act 200 and Cheshire Constabulary adheres to Part I of this code, i.e. set out good practice in records management.

Section 46 Codes of Practice

The Management of Police Information (MoPI)

A statutory code of practice on the management of police information (MoPI), was introduced in 2005, in direct response to recommendations of the Bichard enquiry report. It is being implemented by all police forces in England and Wales. The Cheshire Constabulary declared compliance with the first phase of MoPI by the deadline of 31 March 2007.

The Cabinet Office’s Charter Mark scheme is a tool designed to help organisations focus on, and improve their customer service to users.

Charging regime and policies

The Association of Chief Police Officers has issued guidance on charging for police services "Paying the Bill 2" which Cheshire Constabulary follows.  Cheshire Constabulary also has details of Charges for details from Road Traffic Collisions
