Cheshire Constabulary works with numerous other authorities to
keep the county safe. These include:
ACPO works on behalf of the Police Service. Its members are
Police Officers who hold the top three rankings in the forces of
England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
A key agency within the local criminal justice system which
works with Police, the prison service, the courts, the Crown
Prosecution Service and Victim Support.
The Authority is an independent body responsible for ensuring
Cheshire Constabulary delivers an efficient police service.
Under the umbrella of the Home Office, the CDRPs help create
partnerships to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour, other
disruptive behaviour and substance misuse.
The CJS is one of the major public services in the country with
agencies such as the Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the
courts and the National Offender Management Service work together
to deliver criminal justice.
The CRB is an executive agency of the Home Office which provides
wider access to criminal record information which allows
organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make
safer recruitment decisions.
HMIC is appointed by the Crown and charged with examining and
improving the efficiency of the Police Service in England and Wales
and is independent of both the Home Office and the Police
Service.
The Home Office is the lead government department for
immigration and passports, drugs policy, counter-terrorism and
Police.
One of the largest government departments, the MOJ covers
criminal, civil and family justice, democracy, rights and the
constitution. It also deals with the National Offender Management
Service.
The Cheshire Safer Roads Partnership represents seven local
agencies who work together to save lives on the roads of Cheshire,
Halton and Warrington.
