How to get a Police Registration Certificate

To obtain your Police Registration Certificate, you will need to book an appointment and attend a surgery at a Police Station.

What you need to bring with you when registering

Please bring the following items with you when you register:

  • Passport and relevant documentation
  • Two passport size photographs
  • £34 registration fee (cash only)

You will need to notify us if

You change your address

Let us know within seven days of moving.

You take a temporary absence from your registered address

Absences up to two months do not need to be reported. All absences over two months have to be reported to the police in the district where you are registered. Also provide details of addresses where you will be staying and your expected date of return.

Changes to any of the details

Any changes which affect your registration such as name change, marital status, nationality, passport or other document for establishing identity and nationality, employment, business, profession or occupation must be reported to the police in the district where you are registered within eight days.
