Volunteer: Neighbourhood Policing Unit role

Role: Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) Volunteer
Location: Local Police Station
Purpose of role: To provide assistance and support to the Neighbourhood Policing Teams promoting vital links between the organisation and the community it serves.

Typical Tasks

  • Assist in the development, design, production and delivery of local newsletters/flyers, etc
  • Gather articles for local newsletters/updates for Force website
  • Collate public information such as Burglary Packs in readiness for circulation
  • Update and maintain databases and spreadsheets
  • Other community activities deemed appropriate by the volunteer and NPU supervisor

Requirements

  • Typically, some office experience and/or minimum GCSE pass in English
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic keyboard/IT skills
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with confidential enquiries
  • Must be able to promote equality and diversity
