City Centre
Local priorities agreed through community engagement:
- Severe weather- Provide shelter for rough
sleepers during cold weather.
- Anti-social behaviour- Target anti-social
behaviour in the city centre during the evening/night time.
- Counterfeit money- Raise awareness of
counterfeit £20 notes currently in circulation.
Boughton
Local priorities agreed through community engagement:
- Theft from motor vehicles - To
target theft from motor vehicles in the canal area of
Boughton.
- Begging and anti-social
behaviour - To reduce anti-social behaviour and
begging near to the subway on City Road.
Newtown
Local priorities set agreed through community engagement:
- Drug dealing- To tackle drug dealing related
hot spots in Newtown.
- Bike Thefts - To continue to work with
city officers in dealing with cycle thefts in and around the
area.
10th Janaury 2012
Greyhound Park
- CCTV and shops – To educate businesses
regarding reporting crime. The Aide Memoir is to be distributed to
all Retail businesses on Greyhound Park, Chester.
- Cycle theft – To reduce cycle thefts in
the area.
- Community engagement - To liaise with Chester
West and Chester Council regarding proposed Travellers site that
has been listed in the Press..
- Burglaries- To tackle commercial burglaries in
the area, by conducting more high visibility patrols.
- Partner agencies - Continue working with our
partners.
- High visibility patrols - Continue a high
visibility presence in and around the Greyhound Retail/Industrial
Park.
- Stop checks - Continue stop checks of
suspicious vehicles and persons in the Greyhound park area and
submit relevant intelligence to aid the reduction of crime in the
area.
College Ward
- Cycle theft - To prevent the theft of bicycle
thefts in the College Ward area.

We did: Over the last month we have been concentrating our efforts on high visibility patrols and conducting leaflet drops in vulnerable locations and where offences have taken place

Burglaries, Boughton
You said: To target burglaries in the Boughton area.
We did: During the month of January Cheshire Police have received no reports of garages/sheds being broken into in Boughton

Newtown
You said: Over last month we have been working on gaining the trust and confidence with both residents and retailers in the Newtown Area.
We did: Running Police Surgeries and presentations to local residents on safer homes, this enabled us to give advice on home security devices and quick tips to door step crime in communal residence flats in the area.
Working with business against crime and local traders on Brook Street a radio link to police and city CCTV is being trailed to help in fighting anti social and suspicious behaviour in the area.

You said: Student neighbour issues
We did: Cheshire Police have a strong working relationship with the University of Chester. The Proctor wants to know of any students acting anti- socially and will work on any information given.
