You Said, We Did

  • 3rd February 2012 - Cycling, Lache Lane

You said: A number of residents in the Overleigh area have expressed concern about reckless cycling on the pavements along Lache Lane.

We did: During January PCSO Fox has monitored Lache Lane for cyclists who cycle on the pavement or cycle in reckless manner. PCSO Fox has stopped two cyclists for cycling on the pavements and issued words of advice and issued them with a safe cycling leaflet on the potential consequences of cycling on the pavement.

  • Speeding, Rowcliffe Avenue and Five Ashes Road

You said: Residents have expressed concern about the speed motorist’s travel along Rowcliffe Avenue and Five Ashes Road between 08.00-09.30.

We did: On the 2nd February 2012 between 08.40-09.40 PCSO Fox went out with a speed gun and monitored the speed of vehicles driving along Rowcliffe Avenue in the direction of the Westminster Park Shops. PCSO Fox was wearing high visibility clothing, as the main objective of this exercise is to slow motorists down and make them think about the speed they are travelling. The speed of 39 vehicles was monitored and all were found to be travelling under the speed limit of 30 mph.

  • Burglaries, Handbridge

You said: Increase in Burglaries throughout the Handbridge area

We did: PCSO Pendrey and colleagues from Chester Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased patrols throughout the Handbridge area providing a deterrent for further crimes to take place as well as providing reassurance to the community.

  • Criminal damage

You said: Greenbank College – Incidents reported regarding vehicles gaining access to the site and damage being caused to the property and its grounds

We did: PCSO Pendrey has spoken with the owner of the old Greenbank College in order to discuss further security measures at the site which will be put in place in the near future. The site has been patrolled regularly over recent weeks and details taken of anyone found there believed to be causing a nuisance.

  • Anti-social behaviour, Lache

You said: Anti-social behaviour throughout the Lache.

We did: We are still experiencing calls from residents reporting anti social behaviour throughout January. A number of youths have been identified and spoken to about their behaviour and their names have been passed forward to our Anti Social Behaviour unit for letters to be sent to advise parents. Pcso Mckevitt will be tasking the Chester Outer team to increase patrols at relevant times throughout the hotspots which are currently Cliveden Road Shops, St Clares and Lache Primary school and Boundary Lane Satlney. St Clares Primary school has recently reported some damage and this is currently being investigated to identify the offenders. Number 16 Bus owned by First Company has also experienced some damage over the weekend 29th January this is also being investigated. Updates on this priority will be in March

  • Speeding, Lache

You said: Speeding in the Lache area, in particular Circular Drive and Oldfield Crescent.

We did: Unfortunately due to above roads not being confirmed by Chester West and Cheshire Road Safety, Pcso Mckevitt has been unable to complete any Speeding controls until now. This has subsequently been rectified and Pcso Mckevitt will be completing this throughout February including Lache Lane in connection With Pcso Chris Fox. Updates on this Priority will be in March.
