How you can let us know what matters to you

You Said, We Did

  • 1st February 2012 - Burglaries , Upton

You said: That local burglaries in the area needed addressing.

We did: Regular high visibility patrols of vulnerable areas and regular stop checks of suspicious persons to prevent and deter crime. The Neighbourhood Engagement Team has also set up an operation that will be running this month to target offenders that commit burglaries and theft. Support for victims in the form of Reassurance and security advice visits have also been conducted to prevent repeat victims of crime and provide a link with the public and the police.

  • Parking problems, Upton

You said: Parents and guardians of children attending school were parking inconsiderately and this obstructs the highway and restricts visibility, raising the risk to pedestrians.

We did: Continuance of high visibility patrols in the areas brought to police attention. Drivers still to be engaged with when the opportunity to give advice is necessary due to their parking. School staff members have also been liaised with and an advice letter has been supplied to parents to advise and encourage sensible parking.

  • Bike thefts, Boughton Heath

You said: To target bike thefts, burglaries and shed breaks in the area of Green Lane / Queens Road / Gleneagles / Pentland Close.

We did: At all surgeries up to end of March PCSO Dennis will be available to postcode your bike. See dates under beat meetings.

  • Anti-social behaviour, Hoole

You said: Groups of young people have been gathering in and around Alexandra Park, Hoole.

We did: The extra attention given to the area of Hoole All Saints has had the effect of significantly reducing anti-social behaviour. The beat manager PC Lawrence has worked with council officials and the community safety wardens to ensure that Alexandra Park itself is consistently and reliably locked up at dusk to deter nuisance activity there.

  • Anti-social behaviour, Newton

You said: We are concerned about the series of leylandi fires in the Newton area. Over the last year Cheshire Fire Brigade and Cheshire Police have been called to a number of fires in hedges on the boundaries of properties in this area. While the majority were quickly extinguished, in one case it is believed that the fire spread to a car parked on the drive-way of the house, causing damage to the vehicle and presenting a clear danger to the occupants of the house.

We did: We have pursued all possible witness, CCTV, forensic and intelligence enquiries to identify those responsible for these very serious offences. As a result two youths have been arrested. Although no charges have been brought, these individuals remain of interest and we will actively follow up any further information that comes to light.
