Inspector Stuart York

I am Stuart York - the new Neighbourhood Inspector for the Congleton area. I am responsible for policing in the areas of Middlewich, Sandbach, Congleton, Alsager and Holmes Chapel. I joined Cheshire Constabulary as a Police Officer in 1998 and as a Constable and Detective Constable worked at Congleton, Crewe, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Wilmslow. On promotion to Sergeant I was posted to Northwich before returning to East Cheshire as a Detective Sergeant on the CID at Wilmslow and then Crewe. I have recently been an Inspector at Crewe before moving to the Congleton Neighbourhood Inspector role in November 2012.

I am very pleased to have the responsibility for Congleton Borough in ensuring that the high standards expected of Cheshire officers is carried out on a daily basis and that the strong community and partnership links that have been established are continued and developed further. My officers and I are committed to making the areas within Congleton Borough a safe and pleasant environment in which to live and work.

I would emphasise that it is by working with the residents who live and work in the borough that enables us to identify, target and prosecute individuals who commit crime. It is your cooperation and support which is helping us to ensure that your neighbourhoods are safe and help residents feel safe. We hold regular surgeries in the community giving the public every opportunity to speak with us and to tell us what we are doing right, as just as importantly what we are doing wrong. We respond to your priorities and so I would encourage the local community to help us make a positive difference by continuing to provide their support and information.
