How you can let us know what matters to you

You Said, We Did

  • Bogus callers in Alsager

You said: There has been a number of cases of distraction burglaries in the Alsager area and people attempting to use fraudulent notes in the local shops.

We did: Following reports of inviduals attempting to use fraudulent notes in the local stores, PCSO Sarah Jinks gained funding to purchase detector pens that are used to show whether a note is real or fake. These have then been issued to local businesses around the town to prevent the notes from remaining in circulation. Also, on Saturday the 21st of April, PCSO Jinks conducted at Home security presentation at Alsager Library in order to pass on relevent information to local residents to help safeguard themselves against Bogus callers. The event was well attended and the local PCSO`s will be holding further events in the near future. If you wish to talk to a local officer about any of the above issues, them please contact us 0845 458 6382 (Voice mail number) or visit us at one of our weekly surgeries. Details of which are found on this website.

  • Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour in and around McDonalds in Sandbach.

You said: There areproblems with young people using bad language around McDonalds and Sandbach, and vehicles that congregate in the Medical Centre Car Park leave litter and make excessive noise at all hours of the night.

We did: Over the past few weeks Officers have been regularly attending at McDonalds to learn more about the problems and identify root causes. It has been identified that groups of youths that gather around the front of the restaurant have been using inappropriate language and causing problems for diners and staff. We have identified which youths need to be dealt with and have been moving on individuals known to be causing problems. These youths will be expected to attend the police station with their parents to discuss the problems. Staff have been encouraged to report all incidents to the Police to get an accurate measure of the problem and we are working closely and frequently with management to develop preventitive solutions that will stop the problems re-occuring in the future. This will include a training session and some extra security features in the restaurant to protect staff and give them more confidence to deal with issues. By using this joint approach we are confident that we will rid the problems in the area. We have been taking details of vehicles that been loitering in the Ashfields car park during the evening. We have used High and Low visibilty tactics, to monitor how people have been using the car parks and this seen has a significant reduction in problems. We will continue to monitor this area and will deal with any motorist found to be committing offences on this car park.
