Inspector Alison Ross

I am Inspector Alison Ross, with local policing responsibility for Crewe, Haslington and Shavington.

I will be working on the foundations and strong community partnerships laid by my predecessors, and instilling into my new team the right work ethic and my expectations - to provide the people of Crewe, Haslington and Shavington with a better quality of life and ensure they feel safe and protected by their local Police.

I joined the Constabulary in 2001 and began my career in neighbourhood policing in Congleton, before progressing to various detective roles across the County where I specialised in investigations around the protection of vulnerable people. In 2013 I oversaw a project around how the Force manages offences of ‘hate crime’, and also into complex historic child-abuse enquiries. Before being promoted to Inspector, I was a frontline response Sergeant heading up a team of beat managers and frontline officers in Ellesmere Port.

We face a lot of challenges within the current climate of austerity, and it is vital that we put our resources where they are needed most – whilst simultaneously providing longer-term problem solving solutions in conjunction with our partner agencies. It is my goal for the residents of Crewe to have an effective, professional and sustainable service provided by their local police. Tackling anti-social behaviour, burglary, drug use and protecting the vulnerable in our town are my priorities for the coming year, and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

I look forward to meeting members of our Crewe community at local beat meetings – details of which are available via the website and our Twitter feed @CreweNPU.
