About

Haslington covers the villages of Haslington, Winterley, Oakhanger, Weston, Basford, Englesea Brook, Barthomley and Crewe Green. In addition its officers provide Policing of the Manchester Metropolitan University Campus at its Cheshire site at Crewe Green. The area is primarily rural but, can boast a number of pubs dating back to Elizabethan times. There are a number of picturesque village churches including St Bertoline's at Barthomley. The main routes passing through the area are the A500 and A534 which both provide access to the M6 Motorway and links to Chester and North Wales.

Local Priorities

Local priorities set for the period of 1st May 2013 to 31st May 2013

Anti-social behaviour - We have received some reports of young people kicking footballs on the village green and directing them at the British Red Cross building. Local officers have also heard of youths causing a nuisance on the Bargain Booze carpark. We will make this a beat priority this month and carry out high visibility foot patrols and advise young people in the area regarding anti-social behaviour.

Parking Issues - This month local officers will continue to address parking issues around the local primary schools during drop off / pick up times, especially around East Avenue, Weston and The Dingle, Haslington. We will deal with vehicles obstructing the pavement and parked within 10 metres of a junction via Advisory and Fixed Penalty notices.

Speeding, Haslington/Winterley - Speeding will continue to be a beat priority for the forseeable future months with local officers promoting speedwatch and assisting volunteers. We will also carry out high visiblility foot and mobile patrols in the area to deter motorists from speeding.
