Local priorities

Local priorities set for the period of 7th May 2012 to 7th June 2012

The agreed priorities for Shavington NPT are:

  • Speeding - To target drivers who break the speed limit travelling along the key roads in the area.
  • Anti-social behaviour - To reduce anti-social behaviour in Shavington village and at Joey the Swan park area in Wistaston. 
  • Burglaries - To reduce the number of victims of burglary in the Shavington area.

You Said, We Did

  • From 01/04/2012 to 30/04/2012 - Speeding

    You said: To target drivers who break the speed limit travelling along Newcastle Road in Shavington in the evening hours.

    We did: Local officer , PC Sambrook has been out completing speed checks on Newcastle Road during peak times and several motorists have been stopped and dealt with for various traffic offences including speeding and use mobile phones

  • Anti-social behaviour

    You said: To reduce anti-social behaviour around Edwards Ave and Osbourne Grove area and also in the area of Kemble Close.

    We did: The local police community support officers, Michelle Minton and Peter Corbett have been out on foot patrol at keys times around these area's and have been dealing with any reports of anti social behaviour. When appropriate yellow cards have been completed and submitted to the police's anti-social behaviour co-ordinator.

  • Burglaries

    You said: To reduce the number of Burglaries in the Shavington Area

    We did: After a number of burglaries in the village, officers have been out at keys times stop checking suspicious persons and also being visible to offer reassurance to local resident. The local community support officers, Michelle Minton and Peter Corbett have also been out completing leaflet drops in the area to make residents aware of the crimes and providing them with contact details of the local officers. Please take note of this advice and together we can drive down this crime and prevent further residents from becoming victims.
