Ellesmere Port and Neston is part of the Western BCU

Chief Inspector Giles Orton

Giles OrtonI am the newly appointed Chief Inspector with responsibility for leading policing in the Ellesmere Port and Neston area.  Previously I served in the Northern Area (Warrington and Halton) and before that I led the Force’s Strategic Public Protection Unit, based at headquarters.  I have served the people of Cheshire for 28 years and have extensive experience of both crime investigation and Neighbourhood problem-solving across Cheshire, Halton and Warrington.

I am committed to making the residents and businesses of Ellesmere Port and Neston safe and feel safe. I am supported by Detective Inspector Deborah Dodd and Inspector Darryl Jones in managing all aspects of policing in this area.  Together, we will strive to deliver the most effective Neighbourhood policing possible. This means that we will understand the issues that matter and, working with you and our partners in other public agencies, we will resolve those issues.

To better understand these issues, we will be highly visible and ensure that as much time as possible is spent engaging with the community, preventing crime and anti-social behaviour. We will listen to your concerns and ensure that we put you at the heart of everything we do. Please follow us on our Twitter account @EportNestonNPU, our Facebook page and our website to get our latest news, or register for Cheshire Police Alerts for regular updates on what we are doing.

I know that being a victim of any crime lives long in the memory, and this is why in the unlikely event of you suffering such an experience, I want to do anything I can to ensure that your dealings with officers and staff at Ellesmere Port and Neston is positive and one that raises your confidence and satisfaction in the service we deliver.  I would welcome your feedback on how well we are doing and on how we can improve.

Everyone involved in policing Ellesmere Port and Neston is committed to the relentless pursuit of criminals and those who blight the quality of life of the community. We need the help and support of our community to truly achieve this. If you have information that can help us, please speak to your local officers or PCSOs or use the Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111, to pass the information to us anonymously.
