Local priorities

Local priorities set for the period of 1st May 2012 to 31st May 2012

We conduct regular Beat Meeting throughout the whole of Ellesmere Port. From analysis of all the incidents reported to us recently, together with our own local intelligence, we have set the following priorities.

  • Burglaries - in response to the increase in burglaries, we have set-up Operation Thornapple. The objectives of which are to; provide a coordinated partner agency approach to tackling these crime types, and in conjunction with the British Transport Police and Port of Liverpool Police to pro-actively carry out patrol duties and to take appropriate action on Offenders. To respond to current intelligence and to take appropriate action. Disrupt and arrest individuals involved in the commission of this crime type within the Ellesmere Port area.

How you can let us know what matters to you

You Said, We Did

  • From 01/01/11 to 30/04/12 - commercial burglaries and metal thefts, Parklands

You said: In the Parklands / Chester Road areas during the month of March there was a spate of commercial burglaries and metal thefts occurring.

We did: As a result PC SZABO and PCSO FULLAGAR have conducted hi visibility and plain clothes patrols targeting the areas affected. This strategy has proved very successful as since the patrols were implemented there have been no further incidents. Metal thefts are a high priority at the moment with the high demand for metals pushing up the scrap metal values and we ask that you report any suspicious activity in your area.

  • Anti-social behaviour, Hope Farm precinct

You said: Hope Farm Precinct has seen a marked increase in anti-social behaviour causing disturbances to local residents and disrupting local businesses.

We did: The Neighbourhood team made the area a top priority and increased our high visibility patrols engaging with those responsible. We also worked in partnership with the Cheshire West and Chester Community Safety Wardens deploying the mobile CCTV van which works both as a visible deterrent as well as an excellent evidence gathering tool to help capture footage of those responsible to show parents what their children have been up to as well as helping to identify those responsible in order for our anti-social behaviour team to send out letters to parents advising them of their children's behaviour.
