Local priorities
Local priorities set for the
period of 1st May 2012 to 31st May 2012
The local priorities for the month are decided upon by your
local team, in consultation with Sergeant Mick Warren who carries
out a review of all information held on the Police Systems relating
to your area. In addition, information received in other formats,
such as communication to our Neighbourhood Policing Team email
mailbox or talking to one of your team members on foot patrols is
also taken into consideration before the priorities are decided
on.
If you require additional information, please contact us and we

You said: To tackle speeding through Rainow village on B5470 Hawkins Lane during the daytime between 9am-11am and 2.30pm-5pm.
We did: Your team have deployed the Speed Indication Device (SID) on Hawkins lane to monitor the speed of traffic which has detailed when the key times for speeding are. On Thursday 26th April we held a driver engagement event with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service targeting speeding, seatbelts and mobile phone users. We stopped 14 drivers (12 speeding 2 not wearing seat belts) the drivers all sat through a hard hitting educational video, and received a presentation by fire officers. The event will be repeated throughout the summer months, with a view to educating motorists who drive through the village along the B5470 about the dangers of poor driving. We will also continue to carry out sporadic speed enforcement issuing £60 fines with 3 penalty points for offenders.

We did: Your team have targeted speeders all over the village over the past month including Jacksons Edge Road where PCSO Chris Jackson has now caught 27 offenders who have been issued a £60 fine with 3 penalty points. Your team have also been working with the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service to educate Primary School children about the dangers of speeding, and how they can influence the speed their parents drive.
