The Poynton policing team cover the whole village from Woodford across to Higher Poynton and the boundary with Lyme Park. Within the area is the Industrial Park on London Road South, the five feeder primary schools for Poynton High School & Sixth Form College.

The busy A523 runs through the area bringing traffic from The M60 and South Manchester into the village and on to Macclesfield.To find out more about what's happening in your local area read your monthly update on priorities.

Local Priorities

  • From 01/07/2014 To 31/07/2014-Deva Field, Chester Road

    Priority Type: Anti-social behaviour by young people on Deva Field, Chester Road, Poynton

    Description: We have continued to receive reports from members of the public about anti-social behaviour and dangerous activity on Deva Field. This has included bottles being broken around the area, causing a danger to not only children and adults using the fields but also dogs which are regularly walked there. Our increased presence in the area will continue at key times and anti-social behaviour will be dealt with robustly.

  • From 01/08/2014 To 31/07/2014-Park Lane and Queensway Poynton

    Priority Type: Dangerous and inconsiderate parking

    Description: Park Lane and Queensway are shopping areas widely used by both pedestrians and vehicles and we have continued to receive reports of dangerous and inconsiderate parking in both areas. Our focus will continue in these locations to address the current parking problems and take action when appropriate. The community is urged to give consideration to the safety of other road users when deciding where to park.

  • From 01/08/2014 To 31/08/2014-Poynton Sports Club

    Priority Type: Youth Anti-Social Behaviour and Engagement

    Description: We have received reports of non-members of the club causing problems. The primary problem is large numbers of youths regularly congregating around cars in the car park and the associated anti-social behaviour. We have met with members of Poynton Sports Club and we will work with them to address the issues. Any incidents of anti-social behaviour can be reported via 101 or directly to an officer.

  • From 01/08/2014 To 31/08/2014-Barnaby Park, Poynton

    Priority Type: Youth anti-social behaviour and engagement

    Description: We have received reports from members of the public about anti-social behaviour and dangerous activity on Barnaby Park. This has included the consumption of alcohol and the discarding of alcohol bottles and cans near to the play areas. We will increase our presence in the area at key times and we will robustly deal with any incidents of anti-social behaviour.
