30th April 2012
The policing priorities were agreed to be still current and

night time economy to prevent anti-social behaviour and disorder in
the town centre, particularly on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
nights between the hours of 10pm and 4am.
- Road issues - To target roads policing issues,
including tackling speeding motorists, at all times of day and
night.
- Anti-social behaviour - To target
anti-social behaviour in open spaces (i.e. Barony Park
etc) from 6pm to 10pm every day of the week.
How local priorities are agreed for Nantwich Town
The Nantwich Policing Unit consists of two Neighbourhood
Policing teams - Rural team and Nantwich Town. These are further
divided into wards, with beat officers. Your officers will be
detailed on the Your Team page.
Every three months the Inspector, supported by one of the beat
officers, holds a formal meeting with representatives of Nantwich
Town Watch group that consists of both Town Councillors and other
partners including Licencing and Town Centre representatives.
During this meeting, the local priorities for the coming Quarter
are ageed for the Nantwich Town team.
During this meeting, the representatives are given feedback on
the previous priorities as well as a formal presentation on issues
in their area including crime, anti-social behaviour and
collisions. In addition the representatives bring forward
information that they have received within their communities, from
both the public and retail trade.
At the end of the meetings, which are chaired by a local
councillor, the local priorities for the coming period are agreed
having considered all this information. In addition, other issues
that can be resolved are taken on board and either dealt with by
the local officer or passed onto partner agencies if not a Policing
issue; for example, a highways issue that can be passed to Cheshire
East Borough Council. These Priorities are reviewed monthly in the
period between meetings with the chair of the group and are
validated at the Crime and disorder Sub group of the Cheshire East
Local Area Partnership (LAP)..
In addition, information received in other formats, such as
communication to our Neighbourhood Policing Team email mailbox or
at the monthly police surgeries, are taken to these meetings to
provide a rounded view. At this moment in time the website does not
support a map of the areas but these can viewed in the front office
of Nantwich Police Station or at the Town Council building.
These priorities are then listed on the Cheshire Police Website.
Work is under way to provide posters to be placed in various
locations in order also communicate this information.
If you require additional information, please contact us and we
can discuss the matter further with you.
