Inspector Paul Loughlin

Inspector Paul LoughlinI am Inspector Paul Loughlin. I have the responsibility for the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Northwich.

The majority of my policing career has been spent in the CID as a Detective Constable and Detective Sergeant.

In 2007 I joined the Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Team as a Sergeant. I later worked on secondment to Vale Royal Borough Council, leading on tackling anti-social behaviour in Vale Royal.

Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Team has well established working arrangements with our local partners. In particular we work closely with the multi agency Anti-Social Behaviour unit to address crime and anti-social behaviour issues across Northwich.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to encourage members of the community to tell us what they know about issues in their areas, to enable us to take pro-active steps to tackle them.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers hold regular meetings in their beat areas. I would like to encourage people to take these opportunities to shape how we provide a quality and relevant police service to the people of Northwich.

We aim to ensure everyone is safe, and feels safe.

Northwich is an attractive market town which stands in the middle of the Cheshire Plain. For a long time Northwich has been a centre for the Country's Salt industry. Northwich also boasts the spectacular Anderton Boat Lift which gives people the chance to experience what it was like to travel on a Victorian boat lift. Northwich is primarily residential with a population of approximately 30,000 people. The are also has very popular Bakers Frank Roberts & Sons who have been associated with the town since 1887 and continues to be based in Rudheath on the A556.

    Priority Type: Shoplifting

Description: Since the start of the new year we have seen an increase in shoplifting offences across the area. The majority of these offences are being committed by those who are trying to fund their various addictions. Description: It has come to our attention that inconsiderate cycling is becoming and increasing problem across all areas of Northwich. The pedestrian areas of Witton Street and High Street are no cycling zones as are the majority of pavements, unless designated as cycle paths. The police have various powers in tackling this behaviour including the right to issue Fixed Penalty Notices which I will be encouraging officers to issue.
