You Said, We Did

From 01/02/12 to 29/02/12 - Criminal damage and drug dealing
You said: The last local priorities set were to tackle youngsters causing criminal damage on Leaside Halton Brook, an issued raised by local residents. Other priorities that we looked at were to target drug dealing near to the subway in Kingshead Close, Castlefields and to address the anti-social behaviour around The Village Store, Main Street.
We did: PCSOs Taylor, Troake and Davies were tasked with increasing their patrols and focusing on the area of Leaside. They were instructed to consult with the local school to address the issues with school start and end times. A well known youth from the area has also been served with a 2 Year Anti-Social Behaviour Order. Details of which will be published shortly.
Inspector Lee has just finished but the final touches to a new team within the Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit. The Demand Reduction Team, comprising of 5 Police Officers and a Sergeant will start on the 5th March and will target high demand areas, which will include areas of Drug Activity.
The Village Store was nominated as an anti-social behaviour Priority Area and has benefited from regular patrols from both PCSOs and Police Officers. The number of anti-social behaviour calls to this location has now reduced.

Fly tipping
You said: You reported ongoing issue to local PCSO's in relation to Fly Tipping and Dog Fouling. The Fly Tipping has become more obvious during the winter months with less trees and greenery to hide the problem. The dog fouling on paths & walkways seems to be an ongoing issue. Both of these problems are a nuisance and a health hazard.
We did: Worked with the councils Environmental Health Staff in relation to information advice and enforcement. At the moment we have highlighted the main problem areas for fly tipping and issued advice leaflets and warnings in relation to both issues. From this there is an ongoing prosecution in progress in relation to Fly Tipping details to follow after the court case.
