Local priorities
Local priorities set for the period of
1st May 2012 to 31st May
2012
Local priorities agreed following local meetings:
- Speed enforcement - Residents at a recent
beat meeting have requested that local officers continue to carry
out speed enforcement along Warrington Road in Penketh.
- Parking problems - To tackle parking
problems outside Sycamore Lane Primary School.
How you can let us know what matters to you
You Said, We Did
-
From 01/04/2012 to 30/04/2012 - Parking issues, Sycamore Lane
You said: Residents are concerned with vehicles causing an obstruction outside Sycamore Lane Primary School.
We did: Hi visibility foot patrol in the area at school drop off and pick up. With strong support from the school and the school crossing patrol, we have been using cones to mark off where vehicles should not be parking. This has had a very positive effect, and greatly contributes to the safety of the children, and makes access for buses and vehicles much more easier.

Traffic problems
You said: Vehicles are contravening the bus lane on Cromwell Avenue outside of St Gregory's High School
We did: Enforcement has been carried out by local Police Officer's and Fixed Penalty Tickets have been issued for vehicles contravening the bus lane. A joint operation with Traffic Patrols and the local PCSO and Beat Manager for the area is to take place over the next couple of weeks.

Speed enforcement
You said: One of our last local priorities was to tackle speeding issues on Warrington Road in Penketh.
We did: On several days over the last month enforcement has been carried out on Warrington Road Penketh as part of a national campaign. Enforcement has been carried out by officers from our NPU on both sides of the Carriageway. This has resulted in a total of 92 offences, which are now being processed by the Central Ticket Office. The highest speed recorded was 54 mph and all of these vehicles were travelling at speeds of 38 mph or more
