Local priorities set for the period of 1st May 2013 to
31st May 2013
Road safety - The Cheshire Police Policing Plan
identifies all aspects of Road Safety as being a priority for rural
areas. To this end, local officers are undertaking additional
training to equip them to deal proactively with any offences that
they come across. Additional information fed to the force from the
public is analysed and where appropriate, acted upon in order to
deal promptly with any emerging issues.
Anti-social behaviour - This low-level
disruptive behaviour can cause missery to local communities. Every
reported incident is looked at on a daily basis and followed up by
a nominated local officer. In this way, we aim to identify the root
cause of any problem and take steps to prevent any recurrance.
General crime - Crime in a rural area can be
difficult for local communities to deal with due to the large
distances between neighbours. By utilising a variety of media
formats, we hope to communicate local issues to as wide an audience
as possible so that residents know what to look out for and take
precaution against.
Bag snatches - Two 'bag snatches' from females
walking near to the town centre during the afternoon. A male
offender described as young male, slim build and about 5'10"tall
has approached the victims from the rear and snatched their
handbags from them before running off. No violence has been used
against the victims. Police have increased the number of foot
patrols in the town centre to deter further offences and offer
reassurance to shoppers..
