Local priorities
Local priorities set for the
period of 1st April 2012 to 30th April 2012
- Speeding - One of our standing local
priorities is to improve and maintain driving standards in our
area, particularly in relation to parking and speeding.
- Anti-social behaviour - To combat
complaints that have been made by local residents that there are
groups of youngsters congregating in a variety of locations in the
village and causing a nuisance by way of littering and excessive
noise.

Anti-social behaviour
You said: One resident has said "Gangs of kids are loitering outside of my house and have caused damage and left graffiti"
We did: After being made aware of the issue we contacted a variety of different agencies to help solve the problem. Local officers and Community Safety Wardens performed extra high visibility patrol in the area to help identify the youths and deter any offences. The local authority was contacted to clean up the litter in the area and remove the graffiti. Also, street lighting was out in the area so this was replaced to make the area more visible and a less attractive place for people to loiter. After these measures were taken a small number of youths were identified and then spoken with in front of their parents. Since this was done the residents have had no further issues that they have reported.
