Baby Callum would this year have been 12 years old and would
have started at High School, making new friends, having fun and
learning lots of new things. Sadly he never got the chance.
It is 12 years since the body of a baby boy, later named Callum,
was found in a bin bag in woodland in the Callands area of
Warrington near to Gulliver’s World theme park.
His body was discovered by a man who was out walking his dog,
with medical experts confirming that Callum had only lived a few
hours after his birth having been strangled.
This was on Saturday 14th March 1998, sadly the day before
Mothering Sunday.
Cheshire Police’s Major Crime Review Team has reviewed this case
and is again appealing for any information that can piece together
the circumstances surrounding Callum’s short and tragic life.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Johnson said “Cases such as this
carry a large emotional impact, and somebody somewhere will be
carrying this secret with them still. We have a full DNA profile of
Callum’s mother, and a partial profile of his father. The purposes
of our review is to continue pursuing these and other lines of
enquiry, in an effort to find out exactly what happened on that
day.”
Callum missed out on a life that could have held so much for
him. The death of a baby is a shock to society and has an impact on
each and every one of us.
Please help us to find out what happened to Callum, call us now
if you have any information.
