High winds are affecting road users across the county this morning.

Cheshire Police have attended in excess of 15 incidents relating to fallen trees, branches, and debris in the road since 6am today, Thursday 5th January.

Motorists are advised to tune into local radio for updates in relation to road closures and police advise to take extra care, to plan ahead and allow plenty of time for their journey whilst driving in the adverse weather conditions.

The Eastern parts of Cheshire have been particularly affected by the weather. Police and other agencies have attended reports of fallen trees in Oak Road, Prestbury, School Lane in Congleton, and Ashley Road in Mere this morning.
