Woman killed in Chester collision

At around 8.07pm on Friday 3rd February 2012 a fatal road traffic collision was reported on the A550 Welsh Road, Little Sutton near to the B5463 Ledsham Road.

The collision involving a Silver Land Rover Freelander driven by a 34-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area and a Silver Lexus driven by a 42-year-old male from Buckley.

At the time of the collision the Land Rover was travelling from the direction of the A540 Two Mill when it has collided head on with the Silver Lexus that was travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision the driver of the Land Rover received serious injuries and was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital Hospital for medical treatment where she sadly later died of her injuries.

The driver of Silver Lexus was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Western CID Roads Policing Unit are currently seeking information from anybody who may have seen the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision taking place to contact Sgt Gallagher / Sgt Harrison at Cheshire Police on 101 - the police non emergency number, quoting incident number 896 of 03/02/2012.

Police are not yet in a position to release the identity of the deceased.
