With the lighter warmer nights approaching and the
Olympics only a month away it’s important to know your
limits when you’re drinking alcohol. Cheshire Police have
to deal with a high number of alcohol-related
incidents during the summer period; the majority of these
incidents involve people who have drunk far too much.
Cheshire Police is not saying don’t enjoy yourself, but
take a responsible attitude to drink and be aware
of the potential consequences of drinking too much.
Whether you’re going for a night out on the town or you’re
throwing a party at home, you need to be aware of
how your actions affect others.
Cheshire Police are asking everyone to play their
part and think about the various celebrations over the
summer months and how they affect other
people.
If you’re thinking about throwing a house party
this summer, think about your neighbours. You may
be having a brilliant
time, bit they may not. Be considerate of your neighbours
and keep the noise down, think about inviting your
neighbours along. You can then work together to ensure everyone
enjoys the celebrations.
Alternatively, you may think that after a few drinks it is
acceptable to treat the local shops, doorways or pavement as a
public toilet. If you are caught urinating in a public
place you could face a fine of £80 and be
asked to clean up your mess. Save yourself the embarrassment.
Don’t let your night turn ugly. Know your limits and
drink responsibly.
